PROBLEMS OF DEMOCRACY. Obama is in real war on Islam and 'isolates Russia', virtually
5/28/2014 9:45:36 PM
Obama spoke about his foreign policy and "exceptional role" of America on the world stage. He spoke at a military academy of West Point with a keynote dedicated to "further foreign and defense policy and American global leadership".
In this speech, he outlined his understanding of American role in the new, changing world. During the graduation ceremony at this most elite US military academy Obama spoke about issues such as the American position on the Iranian nuclear program, the protracted war in Syria and relations between Russia and Ukraine.
"American isolationism is not an option, and we don't have a choice to ignore what happens beyond our borders. I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being", he stressed. "America must always lead on the world stage. If we don't, no one else will", Obama announced pathetically.
According to Obama, America cannot ignore a regional aggression in eastern Ukraine.
The U.S. president said: "Russia's recent actions recall the days when Soviet tanks rolled into Eastern Europe. But this isn't the Cold War. Our ability to shape world opinion helped isolate Russia right away. Because of American leadership, the world immediately condemned Russian actions, Europe and the G-7 joined with us to impose sanctions, NATO reinforced our commitment to Eastern European allies, the IMF is helping to stabilize Ukraine's economy. And this mobilization of world opinion and international institutions served as a counterweight to Russian propaganda and Russian troops on the border and armed militias in ski masks", Obama boasted.
"This weekend, Ukrainians voted by the millions. Yesterday, I spoke to their next president. Standing with our allies on behalf of international order, working with international institutions, has given a chance for the Ukrainian people to choose their future", he added.
However, most of Obama's speech was devoted to the American war on Islam. Obama called for "a partnership with the countries where terrorist networks are trying to take root". He pointed out that US "efforts" in this area include fund of $ 5 billion for aid to countries to "fight against terrorism" and to "increase funding for defense affairs, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, special operations and other activities".
On the war in Syria, Obama said that his America "will seek more support to the Syrian opposition from countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq who ... fear the spread of terrorism".
"And in helping those who fight for the right of all Syrians to choose their own future, we are also pushing back against the growing number of extremists who find safe haven in the chaos", Obama said.
One of the plans being considered by the White House, is a new project that includes the training and equipping of the Free Syrian Army (FSA/ Jaish Hur) in the tactical area, including counter-terrorism.
The White House boss gave his speech on a day after he announced his plans to reduce America's long war in Afghanistan by the end of 2016.
The plan provides for keeping of about 10,000 US occupation troops in Afghanistan for training (puppets - KC) in counter-terrorism after the fighting will end by the end of this year, and then bring them back in 2 years (these questions are decided not by Obama but by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan - KC), reports The Associated Press.
According to the agency, the tone of the speech reflected the growing dissatisfaction from the majority of republicans with the White House, the American foreign policy and the American president himself.
Republicans accuse Obama that his policies have weakened the American position in the world, in particular, his indecisiveness on the Middle East, Russia and China.
The news agency reminds that this statement was made on the eve of Obama's European tour, scheduled for early June. During the trip, Obama will deliver a speech in Poland about the American commitment to Europe (but he won't utter a single word, as always, on Russia's terrorist attack of 4/10, i.e. Katyn 2, near the Russian-occupied Polish city of Smolensk on April 10, 2010, and the murder by Putin of the President of Poland, a NATO member country) and meet with the leaders of G7 countries in Brussels.
