Iraq. Fighting in Baqubah. Panic in Baghdad
6/17/2014 11:02:26 PM

Arab and Western sources reported fighting in the city of Baquba, 40 km. away from Baghdad. Mass uprising of Sunnis against the Shia regime, which began in December 2013, resulted in a strong offensive surge.

As reported by the Western media, units of Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya fi al-Iraq wa ash-Sham/Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), and Sunni tribes attacked Iraqi Shiite forces in Baquba and captured the western part of the city. As from Tuesday evening, the fierce fighting is ongoing.

Western sources have reported panic in Baghdad. The so-called "Iraqi army" (i.e. army of Shia regime) is almost non-existent. It collapsed in the eyes of everyone. Mujahideen massively captured warehouses with arms and military equipment and ammunition.

Mujahideen are already operating in the vicinity of Baghdad. A video has been posted on YouTube about the movement of a unit (there is visible all captured equipment, too), which calls itself the Islamic Army. Meanwhile, Western sources reported that near Baghdad was shot down a military helicopter of Shia regime.

Iraqi cities in the north-western parts of the country are one by one being taken by Muslims. Kurdish Peshmerga took advantage of the chaos and panic in the area and took control of Kirkuk which is considered one of the important oil-producing centres in Iraq.

In social networks, there is information about a possible truce between the Kurds and ISIL. It is reported that the command of ISIL and Kurds declared that they would not attack each other.

Meanwhile, Iran is moving troops to Iraq to try to save the puppet regime in Baghdad. It is to be recalled that this information is officially refuted in Baghdad, but the evidence from the scene indicate that there are units of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Iraq.

On Tuesday it was announced that Barack Obama sharply revised his earlier statement that he would not send American troops to Iraq.

According to USA Today, about 300 Marines have already been transferred to Baghdad. They will take over the "security of staff of the diplomatic mission in Baghdad, as well as American citizens working in Iraq on contract".

According to reports from the Iraqi capital, in the last hours, the panic was reigning in the streets of the capital city. Western embassies, that earlier hoped to stick it out until the last moment, were hastily evacuated.

Turkey and Germany officially recommended that all their citizens leave Iraq.

It was also reported that Tehran had several meetings with representatives of the United States, in which they discussed the joint assistance to rescue the Baghdad regime. However, apparently, the sides failed to agree.

This was stated by a senior Iranian politician and quoted by Reuters. The official said that "the meeting between US and Iranian officials ended with no results". Earlier, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that he "does not exclude the possibility of military cooperation with Iran".

In turn puppet Baghdad regime has accused Saudi Arabia of providing financial and military aid to the advancing Mujahideen and Sunni tribes.

"Saudi Arabia is on the side of terrorist groups and is responsible for their financial support, as well as events taking place in Iraq", noted the government of Shia regime.

The same accusations have been made by Iran, which said that Saudi Arabia had transferred for the use of "terrorists more than $ 4 billion". This was stated in an interview with Iran Daily by a member of the committee on national security and foreign policy of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Saleh Jokar.

Meanwhile, some KC sources believe that the transfer of US Marines in Baghdad may indicate impending mass exodus of Americans from the country.

American diplomats will flee in several dozen helicopters which will be located on the Arabian Gulf aircraft carrier "George Bush", named after the American president, who plunged the US into the Iraq adventure, and other US ships in the Gulf.

Escape from Baghdad could be a repetition of Americans escape from Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, on April 30, 1975, the footage of which has been seen by the entire world. Then the US called this flight "Frequent Wind". How the fleeing of Americans from Baghdad in 2014 will be named, is not known yet.

Meanwhile, the English service of BBC News reported that the Shiite regime in Iraq is doomed in any case, even if it manages somehow to stop the offensive for a time being. So, it is a high time for Shiites to collect their belongings and flee to their beloved Iran.
