Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council: Russia increases concentration of armored vehicles on border with Ukraine
6/18/2014 3:46:55 PM

A 15-kilometer long military convoy consisting of APCs and heavy tracked vehicles has been seen near Kaluga, said a spokesman of the Ukrainian Council of National Security and Defense (CNSD). Moscow continues to increase its contingent of military equipment in border regions of Ukraine.

This was announced today at a news briefing by CNSD's information center speaker Vladimir Chepovoy.

"At the moment, four battalions of tactical units have been sent to border areas. It is possible that the number of Russian troops (in border regions) will increase in the future", he said.

Mr. Chepovoy also reported that a 15 km long military convoy, consisting of armored personnel carriers and heavy tracked vehicles, was seen on June 17 on a highway near the Russian city of Kaluga travelling in direction of Bryansk near the Ukrainian border.

According to him, the presence of Russian military contingent and military hardware also increased in Russian-occupied Ukrainian Crimea.

"There is an increase in the presence of militants of Chechen origin there. According to preliminary data, 250 soldiers from battalion Vostok were relocated to Crimea. The Russians delivered a significant amount of military equipment to Crimea- tanks, armored personnel carriers and others - using ferry boats in Kerch Straight", said the speaker of the CNSD.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that after regaining control on the Ukrainian-Russian border, the order of a ceasefire will be decreed.

In response, Russia continues to pull more troops to the border, and Russian terrorists from various Putin special gangs keep on erupting on the territory of Ukraine.
