IRAQ. Battles for Fallujah and Tikrit

Arab and Western sources write that the battles for Tikrit continue. Units of the Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya/Islamic State (IS) (former Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya fi al-Iraq wa ash-Sham/Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), which proclaimed caliphate last Sunday with the center in the Syrian city of Raqqa and local Sunni tribal repelled an attack of Shiite troops. Earlier, the Baghdad regime claimed that Tikrit had been allegedly captured.
Fierce fightings are going on in southern areas of the city where Shiite troops are trying to gain a foothold in residential neighborhoods. The Baghdad regime actively uses helicopters and jets. Local sources also report on U.S. drones participating in hostilities.
Meanwhile, clashes between the Shiite army and armed groups of local Sunni tribes who call themselves Revolutionaries of Tribes took place in the city of Fallujah.
According to eyewitnesses, the fiercest fightings took place in the village of al-Karma.
On the eve, fightings were taking place in the eastern part of Fallujah, where groups of ISIL are operating. The Baghdad regime reported losses among it enemy, but did not give any information on their own losses.
It is to be recalled that the units of armed Sunni tribes and Iraqi Mujahideen liberated from infidels Mosul, Tikrit, Baquba and Tal Afar the whole Nineveh Province,a part of Kirkuk Province, as well as areas of al-Qaim, Rawa, Aneho, ar-Ratba and Hadith in al-Anbar Province. All these areas are now firml controlled by the units of Sunni tribal and Iraqi Mujahideen.
Meanwhile, it is reported that reinforcements of Shiite troops from Baghdad have been sent to al-Anbar. Their joint headquarters is located in the city of Ramadi.
