IRAQ. America believes IS does not pose a direct threat to it
8/30/2014 1:19:05 PM
Americans hit with a new air raids the positions of Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya/Islamic State (IS) units in Iraq. The air strikes occurred to the south and west of the city of ar-Ramadi, al-Anbar province. According to world plutocracy media, IS units allegedly suffered heavy losses in manpower and equipment, but no exact figures were given.
The Baghdad regime confirms that air attacks by infidels serve to help its Shiite army in military action against the IS.
In turn, Shiite forces dropped barrel bombs on the city of al-Fallujah. Most of the killed and wounded were civilians, including at least 11 women and children.
Fightings are also continuing for the city of Tikrit. IS sources claimed large losses among Shiite forces in an ambush on the outskirts of Tikrit. The Baghdad regime continues with its attempts to capture the city. A group of Kurdish Peshmerga was taken prisoner by the IS.
Meanwhile, America claims the IS pose no particular threat to America.
"At present, the US department of homeland security and the FBI are unaware of any specific credible threat to US homeland from the IS", said American homeland security chief Johnson.
However, Washington believes that the IS "constitutes a threat to the region where it operates, and is particularly concerned about former foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq who have British or other European passports that would allow them to enter the United states with instant visas and minimal security vetting".
White house spokesman Ernest, said however, that America has "no plans to change the current level of the "terrorist threat".
In turn, Obama said Washington had no clear strategy for dealing with the IS. He stated this at a press conference at his White house.
Replying to a question if he needed the sanction of the American congress for American actions in Syria against the IS, Obama said that "in the course of strategy development, we would have extensive consultations with the congress".
Earlier, the Americans repeatedly stated they would not extend their attacks on the IS, and their purpose was to protect American interests in Iraq, in particular, on Kurdish territories.
