8/6/2014 11:17:46 PM
Fierce fightings are taking place between the Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya/Islamic State (IS) units and formations of Kurdish Peshmerga. The Kurds attacked the IS near town of Makhmur, which is located near Mosul.
Earlier on Sunday, IS units knocked out the Kurds from three settlements. On Wednesday, the Kurds launched a counteroffensive after they received reinforcements from their fellow tribesmen from Syria and Turkey.
The Kurds strengthened in the vicinity of the village Guver, from where they attacked forces of the IS. Guver is located 55 km from the regional capital of the Kurds, Erbil.
Meanwhile, social networks reported that the IS units were moving to the city of Erbil and that thousands of refugees were leaving the city.
The Shia regime aircraft bombed a building in Mosul. 50 to 60 people were killed. The Baghdad regime said that it was a "prison", meanwhile according to other sources, the building was a Sharia court. Earlier, the IS units left Mosul and redeployed in Tikrit, and that their place was seized by a Ba'athist Ba'athist group of Izad Al-Douri, the so-called Naqshbandi Army. However, this information has not been subsequently confirmed.
Meanwhile a series of explosions occurred in Baghdad on Wednesday. At least 5 car bombs exploded in crowded places. 40 to 50 people were killed.
