PUTIN-MERKEL PACT. Merkel suggests sacrifice of Ukraine to placate Russian enemy
8/25/2014 10:45:10 AM

A Polish TV channel TVN 24 reported about the position with regard to Ukraine of the former Komsomol leader in the Soviet Zone of Germany, now Chancellor of Germany Merkel, in its story "Merkel about Russia": According to Angela Merkel, the meeting between Ukrainian president Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin should not result in any kind of a breakthrough. NATO offers cooperation to Ukraine, but membership in the Alliance is not a subject of the talk, she added. In an interview with ARD, the first channel of German television on Sunday night, Merkel explained that her visit on Saturday to Kiev was to prepare a meeting to be held in the Belarusian capital Minsk. The meeting "would not bring more breakthrough", said the head of the German government, adding that she feels compelled to chill "the great expectations (of the FSB and Putin - KC)". On Tuesday, Minsk will host a summit of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the European Union. The talks will be attended by Presidents Putin and Poroshenko. - If you want to find a solution, it is necessary to communicate with each other, said the German chancellor. As already noted, the crisis in Ukraine can only be solved by political means, and Germany and the entire European Union want to help. - Military action can not solve this crisis, Merkel said (reflecting the views of Putin and the FSB on unilateral ceasefire of the Ukrainian army - KC). German Chancellor also noted that there were three groups of issues on which the parties disagree: decentralization of Ukraine, economic relations with the EU and energy supply. - The Ukrainian people, of course, should be able to choose their own path, Merkel said. She stressed that she was all for the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state (Putin and the FSB too, but within the framework of "decentralization", "federalization", which means the termination of Ukraine's existence as a state - KC). Merkel said that her goal - not to "harm" Russia. - We want to maintain good trade ties, and reasonable relations with Russia. We are connected with each other (the Young Communist League of the Soviet Zone of Germany was also connected with the KGB - KC), she said. Asked about the NATO summit in September, Merkel said that the Alliance would make decisions that enable "rapid response" if necessary. - Ukraine might be suggested a partnership. Membership in the Alliance is not on the agenda, she explained. She recalled that there is "the NATO-Ukraine Council" (there is also the "NATO-Russia Council" - KC), and that Poroshenko would come to Wales to participate in the discussion of this agency. - As I said, it's not about membership of Ukraine in the Alliance, the head of the German government reiterated in her interview with ARD. We would like to note that if there were lustration in Germany with regard to the former Soviet Zone, which exists in the same Poland, then Merkel would have never in the world would become the Chancellor.
