SYRIA. Fightings in Deir ez-Zor. Protests in al-Bukamal. Counterattack in Sheikh Najjar

Fightings continue in the Province of Deir ez-Zor, where local tribal clans revolted against the Ad Dawla al-Islamiyya/Islamic State (IS). Battles are taking place in the eastern district of Deir ez-Zor. The most violent clashes are taking place in the town of Mayadin (see the map of hostilities).
IS units are using heavy artillery and moved from Iraq. Local tribes managed to hit one of the IS tanks.
There are also reports on mass protests of local residents against the IS in the border town of al-Bukamal (see video).
Meanwhile, units of Jaish al-Islam/Army of Islam (AI) counterattacked on Assadite positions in Sheikh Najjar near Aleppo. Fierce battles have been going on since yesterday. The details are not known yet.
Earlier, the industrial zone of Sheikh Najjar was captured by Assadites after months of fighting in the area.
